Ignoring Evil Is Not Christian Science

From the November 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To ignore evil in the hope that it will go away is not Christian Science. To suppose that it is, is to fall into a snare set by mortal mind, which fosters this widespread misconception in an effort to forestall its own exposure and destruction.

Too often this false, material consciousness convinces the searcher for truth that Christian Science is a kind of wishful thinking, and so he misses the mark. Too often it misleads the student of this Science into believing that evil does not need specific rejection and denial as he reaches out for redemption and healing.

This cunning delaying action of the carnal mind needs to be sharply attacked. With our scientific prayers and active witnessing we can combat animal magnetism's attempts to deprive mankind of the truth of spiritual being.
