Christian Science reveals the spiritual laws governing all relationships, the laws which assure that all ideas throughout God's wondrous universe relate to each other in order and harmony. Since in the realm of contemporary human concepts there seem to be many instances of discordant and dislocated relationships, mental and physical, it is a blessing to realize that the spiritual forces that hold the universe and its ideas in joyous harmony are available for mankind to grasp and utilize.
An individual suffering from a painful back dislocation sought the help of a Christian Science practitioner. She directed the patient's attention to the remarkable, all-embracing statement by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health: "Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind. They belong to divine Principle, and support the equipoise of that thought-force, which launched the earth in its orbit and said to the proud wave, 'Thus far and no farther.'"Science and Health, p. 124;
The patient received the strengthening assurance that divine Principle is maintaining the poised equilibrium of every creature. He glimpsed the fact that every idea is in correct alignment with every related idea and that the power maintaining this perfect association is omnipotent, a law so all-powerful as to hold a planet in orbit or control the tides of the ocean. Was not this divine law, God's will, sufficiently potent to erase from thought and manifestation a false picture of dislocated relationship called a sprained back? It was. The healing was not long delayed.
