I wish to testify to the healing power of prayer to God. In my boyhood and early manhood I had great faith in God and in the power of prayer to heal the sick. But I did not really learn how to pray until I began the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. From the age of fourteen until I was introduced to the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, I depended completely on my faith in God and the power of prayer for all my healings and the healings of the members of my family.
For years I longed and prayed to understand God better. It was in my forty-fifth year that the textbook of Christian Science was first brought to my attention. Not until then did I know how to pray understandingly. My first healing in Christian Science was that of sinus headaches, which were long standing and so severe at times that I would have to go to bed for hours. A friend advised me to go to a Christian Science practitioner for help. I did so, and he gave me one treatment. From that day until now, thirty-six years later, I have been completely free from headaches.
A short time after I had been studying Science and Health, two of my children suffered broken arms. A faithful and consecrated practitioner was asked for help. No doctors or medication of any kind were used in either case, and both children were healed quickly.
