The Annual Meeting of The Mother Church Will Convene at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7

From the May 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Distribution of tickets for the Annual Meeting will be made at Horticultural Hall on Monday, June 7, beginning at 8 a.m. To facilitate registration, members are encouraged to bring membership identification, such as the one accompanying the per capita tax receipt.

In an earlier announcement regarding Annual Meeting, attention was invited to the directive in the Manual of The Mother Church. There Mary Baker Eddy states that "no other than its officers are required to be present. These assemblies shall be for listening to the reports of Treasurer, Clerk, and Committees, and general reports from the Field" (Art. XIII, Sect. 1). In the spirit of that By-Law it was requested by our Board that "members . . . consider the need of devoting the time and efforts which they might ordinarily give to coming to Annual Meeting in 1971 to further the completion of the Christian Science Center." It was pointed out that "much still needs to be accomplished before that project is finished, and the prayerful support of our members in this way can forward it greatly."

This year, therefore, there will be no overflow meetings outside the original edifice and extension of The Mother Church, and no nursery or child care facilities during the meeting.
