It is well over forty years since I first expressed my gratitude for Christian Science in our periodicals.
As a teen-age girl I was in a car accident and suffered much from infection and broken bones. My aunt presented Christian Science to me and assured me I could be freed from suffering and healed if I sought the help of God in prayer. I gladly accepted and obeyed all that was asked of me, discharging the friendly physician who had been attending me. Much to my surprise, he was happy to see me take this stand and assured me that now he knew I would be healed. A Christian Science practitioner was called and gave me treatment through prayer. In three weeks I was healed, and the healing has remained permanent.
As a result of this healing my mother became interested in this, for us, newfound religion, and commenced the ardent study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Her healing of a serious heart ailment, and of a tumor pronounced by eminent physicians to be of a fatal type, was brought about solely through the reading and study of this textbook. She led a very active life for forty years after this.
