Ordinarily, the ABC television network's program "Directions" deals with what's going on in America's "main line" Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish religious bodies.
But last October ABC Sunday viewers watched a program called "How Do You Heal a World?" In this program, young people holding a rap session told a nationwide audience what Christian Science meant to them, and how it brings a healing element to troubled people and troubled times.
It all began when ABC's producer for public affairs broadcasting decided he wanted to do a "Directions" program that would give a smaller denomination the opportunity to speak out. He felt Christian Science was the religion he wanted to cover, conferred with Arthur R. Davies, Committee on Publication for New York, and eventually came to Boston to discuss the idea with George Ward, Manager of the Film and Broadcasting Department of The Mother Church.
