As a child I was given a copy of Science and Health. When I was in high school, my voice teacher was a Christian Scientist On the day of my recital my voice was very hoarse. That night I sang so well that I received the highest grade in the class, even though the other students all had much more musical training than I. While I knew Christian Science was responsible for this healing, I drifted away from it and had many unhappy years.
Eight years ago I was working in a medical hospital as a nurse's aide. I had had over twenty years' experience in hospital work. In the last two or three years I had again started studying Christian Science and attending church services on my Sundays off duty. During this time I began to be dissatisfied with the work and decided to resign from the hospital and apply for a position with a Christian Science nurses registry.
During the next few months I applied for and received membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and made the transition to caring only for people who are having Christian Science treatment. To witness spiritual healing through scientific prayer and total reliance upon God proved to be all that I had hoped for.
