I am grateful that God has revealed through Christian Science the power of prayer to heal. I am grateful, too, that Mrs. Eddy provided us with Christian Science practitioners.
For three days I suffered from impaired, painful vision and hearing, extreme weakness, and nausea. A practitioner was called and prayerful treatment was immediately forthcoming. On the third day, my professional commitments required that I go to my office. It seemed impossible to do. Sustained by the treatment, I leaned fully on the care of omnipotent God. I found strength in my reliance on God's love for His creation, man—me! On a minute-by-minute basis, I expressed my God-given dominion and joy for whatever was accomplished. Every obligation of that day, as well as of the other two days I had missed, was met. The physical problem remained, however.
That evening, as I shared my gratitude with my family for the wonderfully productive day I had had, I learned an important lesson in Christian Science. While I was expressing my joy to my family, I wasn't aware of any problem whatsoever, but when I thought about the symptoms, I felt them. So, I just filled my evening with expressions of joy and gratitude, and felt well.
