Although I had attended Christian Science Sunday School as a child, I drifted away from its teachings after marriage. Many years of physical suffering, which resulted from cesarean operations at the births of my two daughters, brought me back to this wonderful religion.
The first operation had left me with phlebitis, which was regarded then as incurable. The second operation, four years later, produced much discomfort as well as continuous fainting spells. A medical doctor insisted that I take medicine for anemia. Instead I decided to take my stand against family opinion and chose a Christian Science practitioner. She asked me to come to her office in a city a number of miles away, and I felt it was important to go. I was able to walk to the bus and keep my appointment. On my way home afterward, the thought came to me very forcibly, "You are not afraid that you will not have food for dinner; why should you fear that you will not have enough blood?" I knew God would care for me. This satisfied me and I felt a great surge of strength flow into my body. I was completely healed of the anemia.
This healing restored me to daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, and I joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. This led to class instruction from a consecrated teacher, for which I am deeply grateful. Later the phlebitis was healed, and I have been in good health.
