Gratitude has continued to grow in my heart for all that Christian Science has done for me and my family over the years.
My first healing in Christian Science came after the aunt with whom I was living gave me a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Sometime prior to this I had been taken to a doctor and then to a specialist because of a small sore on my hand that did not heal. The doctor took care of it at the time but predicted that the condition would recur each year on some part of my body, as it was a chronic skin difficulty. It did so the following year, almost to the day. This was very alarming as the profession I was learning entailed having my hands in water very often. At this time the difficulty appeared in several places on my arms, wrists, and foot.
My aunt took me to see a Christian Science practitioner. He gave me one treatment through prayer, and the skin trouble vanished, never to return. This was so amazing that I continued to read and study more earnestly than ever, and to attend Christian Science Sunday School in a branch church until I was twenty. After that I became very active in church work.
