No Daymares in God's Day!

From the October 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A Christian Scientist once told me to wake up from my "daymare." But a daymare is no more real than a nightmare. In both cases we just need to awake to the reality of God's presence, wholly good, as the true existence.

When we were children, we may have had nightmares, and we were glad when our parents awakened us to the reality of their loving, watchful care. Can we not be even more grateful to our Father-Mother God, divine Love, for awakening us through Christian Science to the realization that we are His spiritual expression, whom He loves and continually cares for?

Through our study and practice of Science we learn that we are not mortals trying to solve the enigma of the dream of life and intelligence in matter. We are immortal reflections of the one divine Mind. Man lives in the actuality of divine Life, God, and is always expressing the aliveness and vitality of Life. To dream is to accept, to some degree, a selfhood apart from Life, God, the one Ego or Mind. It is impossible for the real man—our true selfhood—to dream, for we reflect the one true I am, the divine reality of all life and existence.
