Someday the world will realize it owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, the author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, a practical and remedial religion. Only those acquainted with the Christian Science textbook know something of its immeasurable value to mankind. Mrs. Eddy's writings give the spiritually scientific interpretation of the Bible and illumine the ministry of the Master, Christ Jesus.
The ever-present Christ was demonstrated humanly by Jesus and is being evidenced incorporeally through the writings of Mrs. Eddy. She explains, "The second appearing of Jesus is, unquestionably, the spiritual advent of the advancing idea of God, as in Christian Science."Retrospection and Introspection, p. 70;
Jesus identified himself with the Christ, the Messiah whose human appearing was prophesied by spiritually-minded men of the Old Testament, and he supported his claim by mighty demonstrations and irrefutable sayings. He came preaching the fatherhood of God. His healing ministry left no doubt that he was indeed representative of the Christ, although he was acknowledged by only a few. Knowing that the people could not understand his teaching of absolute truths and that an interpreter would be needed, he prophesied to his followers, "I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."John 14:16;
