Reasoning with God

While going through a severe testing time Job said, "Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God."Job 13:3; Is Job's statement just wishful thinking, or is it really possible "to reason with God"? The prophet Isaiah wrote, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord."Isa. 1:18; This implies that reasoning with God is indeed possible. But how?

How we reason with God depends upon our concept of Him. Alexander Pope wrote,

Say first, of God above, or Man
below,
What can we reason, but from what
we know? An Essay on Man, Epistle I, lines 17-18;
