HUMILITY'S VISION

From the November 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

They led me by the hand, they did;
I, the great man Saul.
As little child from new birth sprung,
My nature changed to Paul.

Become as little child, he'd said.
I did. Those three days blind;
False education, narrow creed—
The worldly—left behind.

Born anew! The birth was bright:
No history, no womb.
I started fresh—as child of God,
Heredity entombed.

The "I" of Saul departed then:
False self hood dropped, as me;
New understanding dawned, and I
Could humbly say, "I see."
