Poems

Like the shepherds

From the December 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

May we, like the shepherds,
be awake in the dark hour,
quiet,
still,
expectant,
ready for the angel choir.

May we, like the shepherds,
see fear dissolve and disappear.
Calmly,
buoyantly,
listen
to Love, that alone is here.

May we, like the shepherds,
rise and see God's much-loved Son;
discern
Truth's child
now
and find that glow of Christliness
in everyone.
