The higher view promotes healing

From the December 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Outside my office window high above a bustling city, I regularly see a helicopter weaving back and forth. Using his radio and from his overhead position, the pilot can recommend to drivers how to unsnarl traffic and to avoid jams. As I watch this performance I ask myself, "What is it teaching me? What message has it for me in divine metaphysics?"

One message might be that the exalted understanding of man's God-given dominion enables us to exercise God's supreme authority. This higher view endows us with the power of the healing and saving Christ—the idea of Truth, which Christ Jesus exemplified—and enables us to solve everyday problems.

God gave man dominion. The word "dominion" means sovereign authority, the power of ruling, governing, controlling. Spiritual man's dominion is, therefore, an established fact and should be recognized as within reach of every one of us.
