A fact is a fact is a fact

From the March 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The clear recognition that a spiritual fact is a fact brings that fact to light in our daily life. Ponder that statement before going any further.

It is essential that we really accept the spiritual facts we study. We can read about them, talk about them, but until we actually know them—that is, until they have become part of our inner thought, our consciousness, they do not become practical, providing spiritual tools for healing that we can use at all times.

Fact is reality, actuality. And Christian Science is factual. It is neither conjectural nor suppositional. The laws constituting this Science are spiritual laws, permanent and unchangeable. The application and demonstration of these divine laws may vary according to the wisdom and spiritual insight of the individual student, but the laws themselves are not subject to variation. To utilize the idiom Gertrude Stein made famous we might say, "A fact is a fact is a fact."
