Can we really bring our activity under God's control?

From the March 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A study of the life of Christ Jesus in the light of Christian Science shows us we can answer an emphatic yes to this question. The truly scientific is truly practical.

Throughout his mission Jesus consistently demonstrated God's ability to control human experience. He walked on the water. He stilled the tempest. He healed the lame, the paralyzed, the insane, the epileptic. He even raised the dead. Events that appeared to be supernatural miracles to the people around, who judged by the material senses, were the natural result of Jesus' constant communion with God, his love of others, and his obedience to spiritual laws.

The Bible shows that many men and women were also able to recognize and obey God's commands as they gave up making and acting on decisions based on a personal sense of existence with its human will. Then divine inspiration showed them the way. They shared their developing understanding of God in healing and preaching.
