Mind's "evening programs"

From the March 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

What shall we watch on TV tonight— comedy, drama, sports? Or is it time for the news? Quite a selection is available, and how pleasantly the hours will slip away!

But is this what we really want most of all to be doing? Some programs have value. They are thought-provoking, instructive, and really deserving of our attention. But many are violent, repetitive, inane—unworthy of our viewing time.

Students of Christian Science find they can under legitimate circumstances profitably spend many hours in pursuit of the correct understanding of God and His creation. They have seen the blessings that follow this effort. As spiritual consciousness has supplanted the evidence of the physical senses, thought has been expanded, completely new views of being have been revealed, lives have been transformed, and troublesome conditions have been healed.
