God never made hurry

From the March 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Speed limits in the United States have been reduced in recent years. A decline in the number of auto accidents and savings in gasoline are benefits of slowing down.

But not all motorists conform. Why this reluctance in the face of the good results that can be obtained by driving slower? Perhaps because we mistakenly believe that accomplishment and progress have something to do with hurry.

Christian Science introduces into our lives a very different pace—one that stems from God. We can know the unencumbered motion of divine Mind in perfect stillness, calm, peace, and unhurried action. The agitated or excited thoughts of mortals cannot succeed in making God, divine intelligence, hurry up. Nor can impatience possibly speed ahead of God—ahead of Mind's orderly unfolding of reality. God's allness fills each moment. No more of God will be present in the minutes or years to come, than He is providing right now.
