How well are you representing God?

From the July 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Why does representing God—evidencing the pure goodness and peace of our real selfhood as God's reflection— present problems? Because too often we regard good as something to be attained rather than as the present reality of being. Yet God has said, "Ye are my witnesses . . . and my servant whom I have chosen." Isa. 43:10;

Regardless of our human condition, in reality you and I are right now the spiritually perfect manifestations of infinite Mind, bearing witness to the love of divine Love and the stability of unerring Principle. Right now, despite what the material senses say to the contrary, we are actually representing the completeness of Soul, the substantiality of Spirit, the purity of Truth, and the vitality of Life.

As we gain a fuller understanding of God and of our unchanging relationship with Him as His witness or representative, our true state of being will be revealed in our daily living. This understanding is not a gift bestowed upon a few individuals. It is a natural quality of everyone's real being. And therefore it is capable of demonstration now. In fact, it demands demonstration now, for only by accepting the truth that we actually are God's witness right now can we find joy and harmony. As our consciousness is filled with the understanding of our role as God's representative, we have better health, a better marriage, a happier home, a more meaningful and fulfilling career. We also enjoy complete and lasting physical healings.
