Poems

In the middle of the night

From the April 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

God is in this room
(though not less
elsewhere).

I reach
my hand to Him
(never mind
what direction—
He is everywhere).

Never alone,
I pull the healing
closeness of His comfort
round me
(warmed, loved).

God is here.
