From the June 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

An editorial—"In view of the increased emphasis on human mentality, it is crucial for all religious people to develop and expand an understanding of divine Mind's oneness and allness— to see clearly that Mind is infinite Spirit, free from a trace of materiality, limitation, erring influence."

For Monitor readers—especially Christian Scientists—to regard the paper as merely a good news publication is to restrict severely its potential for doing good. As a periodical of the Christian Science movement, it is a vehicle of divine Truth in human consciousness. When readers accept it as such and use it as an aid both in invigorating their own lives and in raising the ethical and spiritual status of mankind, the Monitor truly spreads 'undivided the Science that operates unspent.'" [See The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 353.]

"When the perfect model of man is framed in consciousness, nothing can sidetrack us into believing we are sick, demoralized, destructible. Love for the uncontaminated concept leads the way to its manifestation in our lives."
