The divine Mind, God, is All and governs all of its ideas in perfect harmony. This Mind is Spirit, and its creation is spiritual. There is no matter in it. Yet the law by which Mind governs its spiritual ideas heals what we see as diseases of the material body, as well as conflicts among material personalities.
It is not necessary to die in order to experience the harmonious government of the divine Mind. On the contrary, the law of God overcomes death. To the extent that one is conscious of the law of God superseding all other supposed laws—even though he may appear to others to die—he experiences only a progressive appearing of eternal life.
Christ Jesus illustrated the nature of God as Love and of God's law as the law of Love. He was conscious of himself as the spiritual idea of the divine Mind. Yet he walked among mortals healing their sicknesses, raising their dead, and submitting himself to the crucifixion in order that he might prove to those who needed the proof that Life is immortal. The spiritual ideas of God, already perfect, did not need this proof, but mortals did. And today we need the healing action of God's law to restore health to diseased bodies and to overcome discords and threats of death. And we have it.
