Divine Mind's law of reconstruction

From the April 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Certain historic happenings are widely known—memorable because they touch so many lives; they sometimes have a part in determining the course of human life itself.

Christ Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension were events that profoundly altered history. His achievements thoroughly buttress the Christian's faith; but they have vastly greater import. Jesus' acts carry implications worthy of attention by every student of every religion and philosophy on earth. He demonstrated man's true, immortal nature. He proved that God is infinite, indestructible Life, and that the grave is powerless to snuff out man's God-given identity. He showed that Love is victorious over hate, that good conquers evil.

Our Saviour's example is a tremendous inspiration to anyone glimpsing the depth of his mission. His resurrection delivers not a theoretical but a wonderfully practical message to us today. Yes, it does foster a spiritual conviction that what he taught was the very Word of God; it does give us courage to follow his teachings. But it does something else, too.
