Better marriage

From the May 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As a young man, I was relocated to a small town where I knew no one. I was lonely and unhappy. But a passage from  Science and Health made me realize that happiness and completeness are spiritual and always present in one's true consciousness, which reflects the divine.

This is the passage of Mrs. Eddy's that was so helpful to me: "As mortals gain more correct views of God and man, multitudinous objects of creation, which before were invisible, will become visible. When we realize that Life is Spirit, never in nor of matter, this understanding will expand into self-completeness, finding all in God, good, and needing no other consciousness." Science and Health, p. 264.

For me, this passage was as though a light had been turned on. I could understand these truths and diligently sought to practice them. Very soon afterward, I met my future wife.
