Nothing new to eternal Mind

From the November 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We learn from the Scriptures and in Christian Science that whatever God made or includes is perfect, good, eternal—entirely spiritual. While mortal and material conditions and things come to our notice, they have only a temporary claim to existence in our earthly lives, not the everlasting substance of divine reality.

Every idea, quality, and faculty of God is eternal. It has no beginning or ending. Whatsoever is real and good is permanent, and exists within the exclusive jurisdiction and control of God.

The basic spiritual ideas and the underlying laws guiding worthy endeavors existed before they were found to be demonstrably at hand in human experience. There is no time at which an idea or quality of God, or a Christianly scientific fact, was nonexistent. True, it may not have been recognized or put to use. But, nonetheless, that which is true is actually ever present and everywhere present for us to understand and to utilize.
