The Christian Science Monitor—an indispensable tool for individual and world salvation

From the November 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Newspaper experts say that the health of a newspaper depends on the extent to which it is considered essential or indispensable by its core readers.

Mrs. Eddy made clear her desire "that every Christian Scientist, and as many others as possible, subscribe for and read our daily newspaper." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, pp. 352-353. Without this vital core of dedicated Christian Scientist readers, the Monitor would find much more difficult the accomplishment of its mission to heal mankind and to help in rescuing humanity from the worldly miasma of danger and violence.

How essential do Christian Scientists consider the Monitor to be to them? How indispensable? Can they get through the week without it?
