Poems

No matter how often...

From the June 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

you multiply a dream
the product is always nothing.
Accumulations of illusion
have no real potential.
A million zeros in a million years
could never become one.
Nor a million lies told a million times
ever become true.

When nonthought whispers
to you silently, repeatedly,
that God is far away, and you
are way out on some awful limb—
alone—
refute it!

Man and his Maker are inseparable,
as sunbeam/sun,
droplet/ocean.
Error's dream you fear so much
can never pry you from
your real Christ-hid identity.

So never fear the dream-voice.
It has no spiritual source;
accepting it as real
you would have to believe . . .
the unbelievable.
