Points of metaphysics: shelter and nourish them

From the June 1983 issue of The Christian Science Journal

True Science underlies genuine Christian healing. An understanding of this divine Science brings healing to the broad range of human illness and immorality.

Many people have found that as they delved into Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the textbook written by Mrs. Eddy, some specific lack or fear or sickness dissolved. They perceived the Bible in a beautiful and fresh light; they caught a vision of man's eternal perfection—man as the very expression of divine Mind, of God Himself. This discernment is basic to healing. When one grasps, even modestly, the fact that man is spiritual instead of material, he has glimpsed fundamental truth.

Accompanying this dawning in thought is a much more accurate view of the human scene. Material man is recognized as a counterfeit of real being; mortal personality is the inverse of man preserved in perfection as God's image. The physical body is seen not as independent of the human mind but literally as the externalization of this supposed mind.
