"The Church in Action" section this month contains a very special segment: three articles based on reports that individual members and branches of The Mother Church sent to Boston to be included in this year's Annual Meeting. The harvest—from twenty countries—was rich and overflowing, and only a relatively small group of the reports could be used at Annual Meeting (please see the August 1984 Journal for a full report of the meeting).
Many of these further reports, like those presented at Annual Meeting, focus largely on the Christian Science pastor—the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy. They illustrate how prayerful study of our pastor, along with the individual's recognition of and obedience to the incorporeal Christ, unfolds God's authority over injuries, immorality, sickness, the threat of death, as well as challenges in church activities. Such healing and purification show that Christ, Truth, is leading the way for our Church.
