Out of gratitude for the great debt I owe to God for Christian Science, I humbly submit this testimony. Mary Baker Eddy has written (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 548), "Earth has little light or joy for mortals before Life is spiritually learned." Back about 1885, after the birth of her sixth and last child, my grandmother became a semi-invalid, paralyzed from her waist down. The attending physician predicted that she would never walk again.
However, a ray of light pierced this gloomy outlook when my mother, who was then a teen-ager, read in a publication that there was a woman in Boston who had written a book that was healing people. My mother and grandmother ordered a copy of the book, Science and Health.
This book proved to be the gift of a lifetime. They both studied it. And within a few weeks my grandmother left the wheelchair, never to return to it. She was entirely free. As a result of her remarkable healing, the whole family became devoted students of Christian Science.
