As a girl I spent many summers with an aunt who was a Christian Scientist. She would read the Bible Lesson to me and her own children. Years later I again came in contact with Science through listening to a radio program on the subject. I recall thinking, "This must be the way Jesus healed, and I want to know more about it." Around this time I learned that the wife of my husband's co-worker was a student of Christian Science. I obtained from her the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and started reading it.
A short time later I had the opportunity to experience the healing power of this Science. My four-year-old daughter was ill with stomach trouble and was not able to hold down food or liquids. I realized that this Christ, Truth, that I was learning about and accepting through my study of Science could heal her. Therefore I asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray for her and to help relieve me of fear.
I witnessed a very quick healing for the child and myself when she soon asked for a glass of water and drank it without any discomfort whatsoever. I then dressed her with an expectancy of complete healing. Suddenly she jumped off the bed, strong, and free from all sickness.
