As a child I loved the truths of Christian Science, but after my school years, this love was sometimes more academic than living and practical. When I faced a challenge, I was tempted to feel overwhelmed. I knew that there were many wonderful truths available, and I eagerly sought to understand them, but I wasn't sure which truth would be the right one to heal whatever difficulty I faced at the moment. What I needed was a greater sense of the scientific nature of Christian Science.
There is nothing haphazard about that which is truly scientific. Its consistency can be demonstrated. It has a reliable basis in law. To see just how demonstrable and reliable the Science of Christ is, I needed to understand and live more consistently from the basis of its truths.
Fundamental to the practice of this Science is the fact that one all-loving, incorporeal God, or divine Principle, has created man in His image and likeness. All that is real manifests this Principle, which is Spirit, not matter. Man, as the expression of divine Spirit, is wholly spiritual. He is under God's jurisdiction, not matter's. And this spiritual fact can be scientifically proved in demonstrations of God's dominion.
