As I think back over the many times that God, good, has healed me, I am tremendously grateful for Christian Science. It is a clear-cut, effective teaching that provides us with answers to our questions concerning the Supreme Being, our own existence and purpose, and all of creation. This Science also helps us understand how Christ Jesus and others in earlier times accomplished healings in a divinely natural way.
In my early years, so-called childhood diseases were quickly healed. Since that time, difficult relationships have been improved, and much protection has been evident. Best of all, sufficient spiritual regeneration occurred to give me confidence that I could serve a term as Reader in our branch church—a position which I had felt unworthy of and to which I had felt incapable of making a contribution. The result was a cherished three years of learning in the Father's vineyard.
My other blessings include the healing of a serious case of sunstroke and the healing of a sprained ankle just before a key college basketball game. I also narrowly missed stepping on a land mine during wartime. The instance of God's care I am probably most grateful for took place more recently. Certainly it proved to me that challenges to our faith and understanding of God can be steppingstones to spiritual growth.
