I have been a lifelong Christian Scientist and have had many blessings. There have also been difficult experiences, but as Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states (p. 66), "Trials are proofs of God's care." I have had many proofs of this care!
One healing I consider outstanding was that of very poor hearing when I was about nine years old. My hearing had declined until it reached the point where I had to sit in the front row at school in order to hear any of what the teacher was saying.
My family and I had been praying about the situation, but the material evidence was disheartening. My mother, urged by schoolteachers and wanting to find a temporary solution, took me for an examination.
