Whether at a shopping mall, on a college campus, or in the foyer of a church, a bulletin board is a great place for people to share information. You can learn a lot about an active community from reading local bulletin boards. We hope you'll enjoy this bulletin board and feel encouraged to join in and share experiences.
"In the branch church where I attended Sunday School it was almost unthinkable that the Sunday School students would attend the church service that immediately followed Sunday School, or the Wednesday evening testimony meeting. But I was greatly helped by one teacher who recognized the situation and would share with the class, when appropriate, healings that had been given on a Wednesday night. She also would work into our discussions some of the pertinent points of giving a testimony—be considerate of others in relation to the length of your testimony; do not get into the details of the problem too deeply, but rather dwell upon how you applied the truths you had learned to solve the problem; always be careful to speak in a language that a stranger could understand; and above all, have the conviction that what blesses one blesses all. I cannot even estimate how many times I have relied on these thoughts shared by that dear teacher."
A man went straight into the study room and began to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. When he came out, he picked up the Quarterly and said, in the most sincere tone, "Can I buy this?" He was not familiar with Christian Science, and this was his first visit to a Reading Room. He said that what he read was the most wonderful thing he had ever read! He said that he was so moved that he cried. He commented that he actually felt God's presence while he read. The man borrowed a Science and Health and purchased a Quarterly. He also took past issues of the Christian Science Sentinel and the Journal and information about local churches. As he left he said, "I will never forget this day!" Contributions to this feature are welcomed and may be sent to:
