From the July 1988 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A note was tucked in the door of the Reading Room in Albany, New York, when the librarian opened up one morning. It simply said, "I see your window every day and it's the best part of my day."

There are many others like the passer-by from Albany. Anyone who has served in a Reading Room has felt people's delight nowadays in spiritual nourishment. A Reading Room that feeds that deep, persistent hunger for spirituality on terms that make sense to our branch church's own community is one that's going to be sought out.

What were the key issues and challenges raised in the news yesterday, or last week, about your community? What are the chronic challenges that really need to be faced and broken through? What have you been able to do to help your community know that you're aware of those needs and are doing something about them?
