As I look back on my early childhood, I see that I had a solid home foundation. My parents were both moral and loving. We had a life of family togetherness and fun. My school years, too, were fun-filled and highly productive.
As a young woman I entered into a marriage that ended in divorce. I found myself alone with three small children to raise. Where was my bluebird of happiness then? It seemed that every road led to a dead end, and there were many struggles. In a moment of deep discouragement, I attempted suicide.
My parents found me in that rock-bottom state. Then something wonderful occurred. They called for help. Not the police, fire department, or emergency squad. They called a Christian Science practitioner. As far as I knew, up to that time my parents had never expressed an interest in Christian Science.
