I have practiced Christian Science since the age of ten, when my parents were introduced to this Science. There have been numerous healings of all types.
While I was a child and young adult, we lived in a part of Central America where there was no branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Yet I felt a wonderful closeness to the teachings of the Bible and of Science and Health. I remember avidly reading Science and Health as a teen-ager and feeling a deep love and gratitude for its author, Mrs. Eddy. I learned so much through her writings. This closeness to the teachings of Christian Science resulted in many healings.
While I was still in Central America, I had a healing of measles, which strengthened my trust in God's healing power. Upon observing the inflammation on my face and other symptoms, my employer requested an immediate medical diagnosis. A physician confirmed that the condition was measles and requested I be hospitalized at once. After I had made several requests that I be permitted to go home and take my convalescence there, the physician agreed.
