Church Bulletin Board

From the November 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Whether at a shopping mall, on a college campus, or in the foyer of a church, a bulletin board is a great place for people to share information. You can learn a lot about an active community from reading local bulletin boards. We hope you'll enjoy this bulletin board and feel encouraged to join in and share experiences.

"Yesterday I was at the Baptist church down the street. I was praying to God to show me an answer if my son could be healed. I'm here to see if I can find an answer."

This is what one new visitor among many to our Reading Room told us recently It all began last January when we decided at one of our Reading Room staff meetings to discuss a number of the major problems that are facing our city. An article in the "Workshop" section of the Journal encouraged us to pursue this challenge. At the same time our branch church began looking into community needs and considering Reading Room hours and location. Two months later our librarian attended a workshop meeting for Reading Room librarians at The Mother Church.
