Relying "upon divine Mind alone"

From the November 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As we go out into the world to heal and uplift thought, our motives and actions should be pure. Our highest sense of humility and love is essential.

Closing one's eyes and thought to mankind's yearning for spiritual healing breeds apathy, carelessness, self-worship—characteristics that strangle spiritual growth! But cultivating genuine compassionate concern for others enables us many times to heal longstanding ailments immediately. Why? Because love that is spiritual, reflecting divine Love, God, heals.

If our motive in this effort is to worship ourselves instead of God, however, we will be a long time on the path to humility, love, care, and compassion. Any deviation from the pure path of divine Love, God, will lead us astray. Indeed, trying to heal on a material basis only brings failure.
