I am very grateful for the many avenues through which the truths of Christian Science come to bless us. I particularly appreciate the healing truths shared with us in the videotape of the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church for 1986.
The Wednesday following Annual Meeting a pertinent testimony was given at the Wednesday evening testimony meeting at my branch church, in which the individual related a healing of a pregnant woman that had been shared in the tape of Annual Meeting. The testifier then told how she applied the same healing truths to a situation of her own and was healed of stomach cramps. Both healings gave proof of evil's impotence and Truth's omnipotence. I left that Wednesday meeting with a deeper understanding of the allness of God.
Late that night I was wakened by my younger son, who was distressed with an intensely painful earache that was accompanied by a swelling below his ear. I prayed with deep consecration to see this child's innocence as God's likeness, his complete spirituality and freedom from harm. I remembered that the testimonies from church indicated that no material changes had been required for healing to take place; the conditions had just disappeared. I got a clear glimpse of matter's utter powerlessness to have action of its own and its complete mindlessness to choose a course. I saw that it wasn't a question of waiting for a material process to take place in order for my son to be free.
