Testimonies of healing given at Wednesday evening testimony meetings and those published in the periodicals have been a great help and source of inspiration to me for many years. With this in mind, I wish to share some healings I have had through the study and application of Christian Science. (The healings I shared in testimonies published in 1951 and 1984 have all proved permanent.)
Many years ago I obtained my first job—one that required a great deal of standing and walking. After working a few days, my feet hurt me very much, and I noticed that I had corns on every toe.
I visited a Christian Science practitioner, who said he would pray for me. He also asked me to memorize and apply the following passage from Mrs. Eddy's writings (Pulpit and Press, p. 3): "Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love. If you maintain this position, who or what can cause you to sin or suffer? Our surety is in our confidence that we are indeed dwellers in Truth and Love, man's eternal mansion. Such a heavenly assurance ends all warfare, and bids tumult cease, for the good fight we have waged is over, and divine Love gives us the true sense of victory."
