I was introduced to Christian Science when I was a teen-ager, and it has met my needs for sixty years.
The first healing I had was of a severe case of astigmatism. After I had studied the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for a short time, a glimpse of man's true spiritual selfhood came to me as I pondered Christ Jesus' statement "The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light" (Matt. 6:22). I took off my glasses and found I had been healed of the need for them.
About thirty years later I had symptoms of glaucoma. A relative had become blind with this disease, and I was urged by members of my family to have medical attention. I relied on the power of God, however, and gave myself Christian Science treatment daily. I constantly challenged the argument that disease is true of God's man, made in His likeness. After some time I was completely healed.
