Losing weight

From the February 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Time to lose weight!
Time to drop off
too much human opinion.
How empty one can feel
gorging on the unreal!

No more snacks
of puffed-up will,
laced with indignation!
False cravings cease
when thought is filled
with God's sweet communication.

Thus the bread of heaven
strengthens me
to prove on modest scale
man's immortality.

Dear Father-Mother,
from ego's self-indulgence
may I be free.
One Mind's opinion
governs me.

This is my dominion.
This is weight loss
that brings gain.
This is the trim
of Christly discipline.
