From the Directors

From the March 1991 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We are happy to announce the election of Virginia S. Harris, C.S.B., to The Christian Science Board of Directors. Mrs. Harris has been elected to fill the vacancy that has occurred through the resignation of Jill Gooding, C.S.B.

Our colleague, Jill Gooding, in her letter to the Board, likens working as a Director to being called to work in Mary Baker Eddy's household. Although we have acceded to Jill's request, we will miss her. She will once again devote herself full time to the healing practice of Christian Science and to the teaching of Christian Science, which she dearly loves.

Virginia Harris is, of course, familiar to all members of The Mother Church through her past five years of service as Clerk. During that time the worldwide nature of our movement and membership has called for an international, firsthand knowledge of and participation in the activities of this Church. She has been effective in that work, and we are grateful to have someone so prepared to join the Board at this important time. She will continue to hold her classes and to conduct her association in Michigan.
