One Friday afternoon while I was at work dismantling a trailer on a construction site, a metal section of pipe that had been attached to the ceiling of the trailer came crashing down and landed squarely on my head. I fell to the floor and lay there, feeling dizzy and on the verge of unconsciousness.
To free myself from the pain, I affirmed what is true of my real, spiritual nature as God's man. I thought of these words from "the scientific statement of being" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."
Acknowledging these powerful truths enabled me to remain conscious. A laborer who works for our company appeared on the scene. When he saw what had occurred, he was very concerned and stayed with me for quite a long time, until I assured him I could get home on my own.
