I will always be grateful to the friend who many years ago told me of Christian Science. I was having one of my repeated attacks of hay fever, and my friend said to me, "You don't have to put up with this." I was surprised at what she said because I had been unable to get relief, even though I was taking pills, using nose drops, and following special diets. My friend just briefly mentioned Christian Science at that time, but a few weeks later this friend and her husband told my husband and me a little more about Science. They invited us to go with them to a Christian Science lecture, and we eventually decided to attend. They also took us to a Sunday church service and later to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting.
Soon my husband and I started attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, while our three children continued to attend their old Sunday School. After a few weeks, my husband thought that our children should be with us, so we enrolled them in the Christian Science Sunday School, which they attended until age twenty.
When we changed churches, some of our relatives were opposed because they felt we were endangering the lives of our children by not using medical health care. However, Christian Science was proved a reliable help, and our children were happy and healthy. We had healings in the family of pneumonia, flu, coughs, the effects of accidents, insect bites, back trouble, stomach disorders, earaches, and infections. Our children and their families are now dedicated students of Christian Science and active workers in their respective branch churches.
