I just received your letter, and I know how you feel. When people we greatly trust are in disagreement on a church issue, it can be confusing, indeed!
You mentioned a proposal that is brought up time and again in your branch church by members who feel certain the membership is amiss in not passing it. Clearly, it would not be in accord with Christian Science for me to advise you as to how to vote; but I can share some insights on democracy and government that have proved helpful to me in similar situations.
